Saint Paul, MN:    A delegation of the India Chamber of Commerce met with US Senator Amy Klobuchar to discuss US-India business and trade relations. Senator Klobuchar was supportive of a number of issues important to the chamber: growth in trade relations with India and immigration reform in the areas of education and professional visas. Chamber members shared with the Senator the Global Village initiative to create a free trade zone in Minnesota and a space for US and Indian companies to do business more effectively in both countries. Senator Klobuchar was also interested in the newly launched Women Business Council - a networking forum for female entrepreneurs and professionals.

Chamber members thanked Senator Klobuchar for support of US-India relations and requested her to support the Asian Indian community as it responds to negative remarks and incidents in different parts of the country. Senator Klobuchar warmly remembered her recent visit to India and looked forward to working with the chamber and other groups to build US and Minnesota - India relations.
